Culture & Community

Chatham’s culture is as warm and welcoming as its breathtaking campus. Faculty and staff collaborate not only across departments, but across schools and with affiliated centers such as the Chatham University Women’s Institute and the Center for Regional Agriculture, Food, and Transformation (CRAFT). The campus community comes together at multiple events over the course of the year, such as employee meals and traditions like the holiday Candlelight event, Global Focus events, and Buckets and Blossoms, a day when the campus comes together to plant flowers on campus.

Fit for the Future

Since 2004 Chatham's health and wellness programs, "Fit for the Future", has provided a variety of programs to increase community awareness for a healthier lifestyle. From squash clinics and yoga classes to biometric screening and flu shots, Chatham prioritizes the health and wellbeing of faculty, staff, and students. We also participate in the Take a Healthy Step (TAHS) program through the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC), which encourages Chatham employees and their covered spouses to take simple steps to manage their health and enjoy a healthier lifestyle. This program has kept our health insurance premiums reasonable and we provide an incentive for employees to waive the annual deductible with achieving wellness points.
